Summary
An oak and marquetry court cupboard, English, circa 1580. With a replaced moulded top above an egg and dart edge and floral marquetry frieze in sycamore and holly, centred with a Green Man face, raised on gadrooned leaf-carved bulbous columns with ionic capitals, the lower tier carved with floral rosettes and raised on similar bulbous supports, each tier with a drawer, the rear supports stop-fluted, the third or bottom tier now missing.
Provenance
Previously on loan from Lt.Col.Geoffrey Walter Fownes Luttrell 1975. Gifted to the National Trust on 24/6/1981.
