Summary
Longcase clock. Mahogany 8-day longcase clock by Henry Gamble with 4 pillar movement, anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell. 13 inch break arch dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute numerals, scalloped minute track in the Dutch style. Engraved dial centre with birds, flowers and scrolls, semi circular calendar aperture, engraved seconds dial, winged cherub spandrels. Moon dial in arch with twin moons and moon age. Dial is skeletonised behind chapter ring. Winding barrels without grooves. “Henry Gamble, Bramley” engraved in brass edge to arch. Mahogany veneered case with wavy topped door, hood with wooden reeded columns, break arch door, glass windows to the side and swan neck pediments.
