Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, An Unknown Man in Brown, attributed to John Comerford (Kilkenny 1770 – Dublin 1832). 1820s. Rectangular. Half-length portrait of an elderly man turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a dark brown coat and waistcoat, cream-coloured under-waistcoat, white cravat with gold pin. Light brown eyes, grey hair, waxy face, aged about 70. Plain red-brown background.
