White plaster sculpture, Aristides (c.530-c.468 BC). The orginal statue (possibly a copy made before AD 79 of an original portriat of Aeschines of the 4th century BC) was found at Herculaneum in 1779 and was moved to Museo Nazionale in Naples by 1813. By the 19th century it was known as Aristides but also known as An Orator.
