Summary
Bronze (or possibly Britannia metal) on rectangular wooden plinths, Les Chevaux de Marly, after Guillaume Coustou I (Lyon 1677 - Paris 1746), 19th century. Three statues of men, holding horses. Copies of the horses de Marly by Coustou after the monumental marble pair commissioned in 1739 by Louis XV for the horse pod at Chateau de Marly of which they are good bronze copies at the Wallace Collection, London. Each horse is restrained by a groom.
