Summary
Bronze sculpture, King Charles I (1600-1649), after Hubert Le Sueur (c.1580 - London 1670). A bust portrait after the original version of 1635 which shows him as the head of the Royalist forces. He wears embossed armour with a lion's head in the centre and at each shoulder.

Bought by Wiggett for £13 3s 6d in 1845-7; bequeathed with The Vyne, estate and contents by Sir Charles Chute, 1st Bt (1879-1956)
