Summary
A green leather bound writing box with flush brass carrying handle to the hinged lid and the initials E.P. embossed in gold nearby. The interior fitted in red leather with double pockets to the lid, with a seven inch bone ruler, and trays to the well. Inside a red leather bound folder and a small box with LIGHT inscribed in gold on the hinged lid. Internally blue tin striker for matches. Makers mark stamped in gold HOUGHTON AND GUNN, 162 NEW BOND STREET. E.P. for Edith Pennyman, who married Phillips. She was the youngest sister of J. Worsley Pennyman.

Pennyman collection devised in October 1961 to The National Trust under the terms of Col. J.B.W. Pennyman's will.
