Summary
A travelling trunk covered in brown hessian and bound by four wooden spars. Two lockable latches - British Lever to the front with two hasps and small padlocks additionally. In blue paint, irregularly on the top - Captain Hugonin 4034 K? - Stainton - Yorkshire - Middlesbrough. Also some luggage labels. JBWP gave Stainton House to his cousin and her husband to live in immediately after WWII. David and Bill, the two Hugonin boys, passed many of their wartime school holidays at Ormesby. The trunk is a small leather case with Initials J W Pennyman, Ormesby, two straps and a central handle two white strips painted onto the leather. Label NE Railway from Bridlington, Middlesbrough. Back corners are re-enforced. Blue lining wool, four dividing boards also covered in blue book cloth. Each compartment has its own leather straps.
