Summary
A green leather bound writing case with a bevelled slightly domed hinged lid with leather handle. Lock, forced, integral. Internally lined with green velvet. A compartmental tray with silver topped ink bottle, the top engraved with a crest as a castellated tower, mark for London, 1893, a pen tray with compartment beneath, and lower compartment. Objects within include a packet of hooks, an envelope containing loose pen knibs, an envelope containing 4 leather buttons, a small bottle of congealed stuff, with a black rubber stopper, a Winsor and Newton No. 8 paint brush, cut, a large brown button, a modern pen KEARNEYS RED DWARF, J. KEARNEY AND CO, LIVERPOOL, 2 pieces of red sealing wax, a miniature candle drip pan. The small calendar is dated 1916, the entry for 4 April records that it is the owners wedding day. This is the date that James Pennyman married Mary Powell.
