Summary
A standard knife cleaner by Kent, consisting of a wooden barrel, supported by a cast frame, impressed, twice, Kents Patent and London. With knife holes and sockets above and brushes etc. Cast iron turning handle with turned wooden grip, two labels on the body of the barrel, one cast brass with royal supporters and Time and Labour Saved inscribed with Kent Patentees and Manufacturer, 199 High Holborn, London, cast in a foliate cartouche, the other in an enamelled oval below, black on white, Kents Knife Cleaner with Improvements patented 1870 1882 1887. Also Size 6 No. 4382 impressed on the spindle lining.
