Summary
An early 19th century brass banded mahogany writing box with fitted interior and concealed drawer to the side. Coat of arms engraved on lid escutcheon. Internally one pounce box (later replacement), ebony pen tray. Claret velvet, inset brass handles either side.

Pennyman collection devised in October 1961 to The National Trust under the terms of Col. J.B.W. Pennyman's will.
