Summary
Print, coloured lithograph, Interior of the Kitchen of Bodiam Castle, Sussex by James Rouse (fl.1817-1823). Rouse del. Fulham. 1823 (in long-hand above image; 55 below). Trees rising to 25'; two figures, one climbing out of circular stone-edged hole. Vide BOD/D/6a-b. "Bodiam Castle. A series of coloured lithographs from "The Beauties and Antiquities of the County of Sussex" Drawn and published by J. Rouse, Fulham 1825. Fol 18.75 inches x 13 inches. Only 50 copies were published of this size, without a descriptive text. A descriptive volume was publsihed by J.F. Sitchel, 1825 as a separate edition with the plates uncoloured. A second edition of this volume was published by J. Rouse 1827, with the plates either plain or coloured."
