Priest's House, Muchelney, Somerset

Summary
Samples and finds recovered during the archaeological recording during the repair and refurbishment of Priest's House, Muchelney, (HBSMR 111900*1), ENA10974, 1992-1993. Excavations took place around and inside the building to put in new drains. Some late medieval fragments of pottery dated the construction phase of the building. Finds include painted carved fragments of ham stone of 12th and 13th century date. The rubble is probably from Muchelney Abbey. Other finds include stone, mortar, slate, cob, plaster and wall in-fill.
