Priest's House, Muchelney, Somerset
Elm kitchen dresser by Sidney Barnsley. Base section of two short and one long central drawers, over single cupboards at each end, and central double cupboard with double-boarded doors. Two open shelves above, with plain ends and shaped central support brackets. The carcase has warped somewhat, above the doors, resulting in an uneven appearance and gaps. The upper shelves have similarly bowed. Many of the hinge nails from the central doors have been replaced with screws. Right hand door latch has been replaced with wrong pattern. Dry, unfinished elm, with natural patination from usage.
