Summary
Two red flannel uniform capes that would have just covered the shoulders. Each cape has a round neck which closes at the front with a hook and eye. The front opening and the lower edge has a wide stitched border of the same coloured fabric. In the middle of this border, at the back, is a small rosette made of similar fabric. Beneath this is a small backing attached at the top of the border. On the right front is a small oblong of fabric reinforcement to which a badge or medal could be pinned. On the inside right shoulder seam is a label that reads 'Hilliers Ltd. 48, Maddox St. London W.1. 32, High St. Salisbury'. One cape has detachable epaulettes, each with three pips and a gold coloured button with a crown surmounting a letter 'A'. The other cape just has the tapes to which the epaulettes could be attached and is slightly grubby. Total number of items is 2.
