Summary
A Dutch neo-classical mahogany cabinet with two arcaded panelled doors surmounted by a frieze drawer, enclosing an interior with a central cupboard (in four short and two long drawers), inlaid with a parrot and tulips in a marquetry of woods and green-stained ivory, and flanked by ten drawers (two above, two below, three short either side). Veneered with banded oyster walnut, with two drawers, the giltmetal exterior handles cast as Thyroi, on square chamfered support and block feet.
Provenance
Vernon collection transferred to the Treasury in 1967 following death of 9th Lord Vernon, and transferred to The National Trust in 1967.
