Summary
A tiger skin rug complete with head and a few claws. Shot by AAM at Mysore in 1921. Stamped- 'VANINGEN and VANINGEN/ MYSORE', also with shredded Van Ingen label still present. Skin stitched on grey cotton material and edged with a scalloped fringe of purple felt by Van Ingen.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
