Summary
A leopard skin rug complete with head but no claws, by Van Ingen. Shot by AAM in 1922 at Jamnagar. Stamped- 'VANINGEN and VANINGEN/MYSORE', also with shredded Van Ingen label still present. Skin stitched on grey cotton material and edged with a scalloped fringe of purple felt by Van Ingen.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
