Summary
A large Feraghan carpet in Herati design on a blue central ground, woven mainly in blues and reds. Main border has white ground with 'turtle' motifs, between narrow bands of black, red and green grounds, an extra red band on the inside. 19th/20th century.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
