Summary
An old key for a 17th century iron deeds chest (a) bound with iron straps. The complex lock mechanism operated from a hidden keyhole in the hinged lid, an ornate false keyhole to the front face. Two massive hasp loops attached to the lid and corresponding hasps and staples attached to the front face. Two drop loop carrying handles. Internally the lock mechanism exposed on the lid face. A hinged prop for the lid and one internal division.
