Full description
Burmese sword "Dha", presented to General Sir Archibald Montgomery-Massingberd,1935. The broad steel blade decorated with silver "koftgari" story images on both sides and over its entire length. The grip of embossed silver, the central section of ivory, and terminating with a silver pommel. The scabbard of wood covered with embossed silver depicting seven sections of figures in high relief. Central panel with engraved inscription -- 'Presented to General Sir Archibald A Montgomery-Massingberd,G.C.B.,K.G.M.G.,LL.D.,A.D.C. Chief of the Imerial General Staff, by all ranks of the 20th Burma rifles on his appointment as Colonel Commandant of the Regiment, 5th April 1935'.
