Summary

Mahogany and satinwood Regency writing box which opens upto form a fourteen sided case. Lunette with rosebuds in marquetry on harewood,on top with stringing highlighting the sections. Sloped writing surface of blue velvet with hinged compartments underneathand pen sections. Ivory shield key escutcheon.

Provenance

1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
