Summary
Thornton Abbey,Lincs. by J Burrell-Smith after a sketch by Charles Langton Massingberd. Ruined Abbey gateway with statuary screen above and brick bastions before centrally. Trees to left foreground. A group consisting of horses and a cart,carrying boles of trees with a carter and two other figures. Gilt composition frame with enrichments. Signed J Burrell Smith.
