Summary
A Chinese porcelain trencher salt of elongated octagonal form and painted in the oval well with a landscape with a river, boats, figures, pagodas and trees surrounded by a border to the slightly overhung edge. The octagonal base with a deep border of flowers and foliage over a cell pattern. A large chip to the inside edge of the base.

1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
