Summary
A Chinese porcelain blue and white ginger jar with black and gilt painted wooden cover. Decorated with a group of eight people in a room and surging sea through the window outside. A palm tree also. The cover, though anomalous, has traditionally been with the piece beyond living memory and it fits it well.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
