Summary
Hatchment bearing the Strathmore Coat of Arms with Earl's coronet, crest within a garland of bay leaves and supporters of a unicorn and lion, motto - IN TE DOMINI SPERAVI, In thee, O Lord, have I put my trust. For John, 10th Earl of Strathmore, born 14th April 1769 died 3rd July 1820. On the 2nd July 1820 he married Mary Milner the daughter of a gardener and mother of his son John Bowes (1811-1885) the founder of the Bowes Museum in Co Durham.
