Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, John Willoughby Cole, 2nd Earl of Enniskillen (1768-1840) by John Comerford (Kilkenny 1770 – Dublin 1832). c.1811. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, in a loose red velvet cloak and white open-neck shirt. Round head, blue eyes, a Brutus crop to his reddish hair, side whiskers, plump pink face, large white forehead, aged about 40 to 50. Vertical crack left centre. first paper label on reverse, John Willoughby/Earl of Enniskillen/borne 1762. Second paper label on reverse, 44/EE.
