Portrait miniature, watercolour painting on ivory, Colonel the Hon. Henry Arthur Cole, MP (1809-1890), by Sir William John Newton (London 1785 – London 1869). c.1840. Head and shoulders portrait of a man turned to the right gazing at the spectator, in a purple smking jacket, black neck-tie, white shirt. Brown eyes, light brown hair and whiskers, aged about 30. Plain dark brown background. Heny Cole (1809-1890) was the 2nd son of the 2nd Earl of Enniskillen; he was a colonel in the 7th Hussars, and then in the 12th Foot; MP for Enniskillen 1844-1851 and Fermanagh 1855-1880; died unmarried.
