Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Colonel, The Hon. Henry Cole, MP (1809-1890) (?) as a child, attributed to Anthony Stewart (Crieff 1773 – Stockwell 1846). c.1810 (?) Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a child, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, about 1 years of age, in a white dress. Blue eyes, fair hair parted to his right, pink chubby face. Beige background. One of five miniatures of the children of 2nd Earl of Enniskillen. Heny Cole (1809-1890) was the 2nd son of the 2nd Earl of Enniskillen (1768-1840) and Lady Charlotte Paget (1781-1817); he was a colonel in the 7th Hussars, and then in the 12th Foot; MP for Enniskillen 1844-1851 and Fermanagh 1855-1880; died unmarried.
