Summary
One of five fragments of the Hejaz railway, including a fishplate.
Provenance
In September 1980 the donor was on contract to a civil engineering consultant in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Whilst exploring the line of the Hejaz railway north of Tabuk, about one kilometre south of the border with Jordan and a few kilometres south of Mudawwarah, he discovered a length of rail sticking out from the sand, about 20m from the railway embankment. These are fragments cut from that line.
