Summary
Print, handcloured lithograph, Clifton suspension Bridge, published by Pearce/Newman c. 1865. The bridge was designed by I.K.Brunel in 1830. On June 21 1831 the workmen began digging the turf on Clifton Down. However funds ran out and the bridge was only completed after Brunel's death in 1864 to his design by Sir John Hawkshaw and W.H.
