Summary
Portrait miniature: watercolour on ivory of Jane Elizabeth Digby, Lady Ellenborough (1807-1881) Half-length portrait, of a young woman, turned to the right, in a blue dress with gold cords and a gold diadem. Blue eyes, brown hair in ringlets and plaited bun, pink complexion. Red curtain and sky background. The original was commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria (who called her Ianthe) for the Gallery of Beauties.
