Summary
A rosewood, mahogany and inlaid escritoire or secretaire a abattant, Dutch, circa 1830. Banded in sycamore or holly, the fall-front writing surface lined with green baize, the interior fitted with two large drawers and a central open compartment with a lidded well flanked by three small drawers to either side, with a further four drawers below enclosed by a pair of doors, standing on short scroll feet.
Provenance
A bequest to the National Trust, transferred from Queen Anne's Gate, London to Berrington Hall in 1987.
