Summary
A monochrome photograph showing Mabel Campbell and A Lister-Kaye in Red Cross uniform standing beside a troop train at Cervignano, Italy, holding a pail and a basket. They are dispensing drinks to people on the train. One is wearing a light coloured dress covered by a long apron and sleeve covers. She has the Red Cross armband on her left arm. The other is wearing a darker dress with the white apron, sleeve covers and armband. Both wear straw sunhats. Photograph Number 5 of 20 photographs, on Page 5 of Edith Teresa Hulton’s Personal Album: Zona di Guerra October 1915 – May 1916 (see CMS Number 610239.1). Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972), later Lady Berwick, worked as a Red Cross volunteer in a variety of locations in the Italian war zone during World War I. She married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30th June 1919 in Venice, Italy.
