Summary
Monochrome professional photograph showing Cronkhill, Shropshire. The word “Cronkhill” has been written in ink on the bottom right hand corner. The Regency villa at Cronkhill was built in 1802 by John Nash for the 2nd Lord Berwick's agent, Francis Walford. Lord and Lady Berwick returned to live at Cronkhill after their honeymoon in Italy in 1919 as Attingham Hall was leased to a tenant. On the reverse is a mark identifying the photographer as TG & W Thurtle of Clapham and Shrewsbury. Photograph Number 38 of 232, on Page 12 in Volume 4 of Edith Teresa Hulton's Personal Photograph Albums 1919 - 1926 (CMS item number 610190.1).
