Summary
A monochrome photograph of Edith Teresa Hulton with her sister Gioconda and her mother Costanza Hulton (1863-1939, née Mazini) sitting on a bench. Edith Teresa Hulton, at the left of the photograph is holding an opened parasol over her left shoulder. Gioconda is in the middle and has a parasol by her side, and Costanza, on the right, is also holding an opened parasol over her right shoulder and a small bag in her left hand. Written in pencil below photograph: 'done by Mr Pfaelzer May 1909'. Photograph 46 of 227 contained in Volume 3 of Costanza Hulton’s personal photograph albums (1906 - 1919). Edith Teresa Hulton became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. The photograph was taken by Howard Ritter Pfaelzer, an American who had come to Italy to train for the opera.
