Summary
A monochrome photograph of Luigi Villari (1876-1959) standing in a garden. He is wearing a dark suit and has his right hand in his jacket pocket. Behind him trees and plants are visible. Written in pencil below photograph: 'Done by Gio Florence 1909'. Photograph 36 of 227 contained in Volume 3 of Costanza Hulton’s personal photograph albums (1906 - 1919). This photograph was taken by Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940) who was the sister of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick (1890-1972). Luigi Villari was the son of Linda Villari (née White) and Pasquale Villari and the step-uncle of Gioconda and Edith Teresa Hulton. He was familiarly known as 'Gino'. This photograph was taken in the Italian city of Florence, where the Villaris had their home and Edith Teresa Hulton’s mother Costanza grew up.
