Summary
A full-length monochrome photograph of Edith Teresa Hulton. She is dressed all in white and is standing in front of a tree with a small black dog in front of her. She is holding a tennis racquet across the front of her body. Written in pencil below photograph: 'Bim Tarvis 1908'. Photograph 34 of 227 contained in Volume 3 of Costanza Hulton’s personal photograph albums (1906 - 1919). 'Bim' is short for Bimbele, the family nickname for Edith Teresa Hulton. She became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. The dog in this photograph is Tenace (Ten for short), a farewell present to Edith Teresa from George Eustis when he returned to the US to marry. This photograph was taken in the then Austro-Hungarian town of Tarvis, in the province of Udine, close to the borders with Austria and Slovenia. Ceded to Italy in 1918, its official name is now Tarvisio. See also National Trust Inventory Numbers 610177.34 and 610177.36.
