Summary
Faded monochrome photograph of four people in a gondola. In the rear of the picture Gioconda Hulton is standing, operating an oar, while in the middle are sitting a gondolier and George Eustis. In the foreground of the picture a second gondolier can be seen. Written in pencil below photograph: 'Mr Eustis - Gio March 1908 By Bim'. Photograph 23 of 227 contained in Volume 3 of Costanza Hulton’s personal photograph albums (1906 - 1919). Gioconda Mary Hulton was the sister of Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972), later Lady Berwick, who took this photograph. 'Bim' is short for Bimbele, the family nickname for Edith Teresa Hulton.
