Summary
Faded monochrome photograph of Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton sitting with Contessa Maud Albertoni Picenardi. Costanza Hulton is sitting on the right, dressed in a white blouse and wearing a hat with a veil. The wall of a building can be seen behind the two ladies. Written in pencil below photograph: 'Z & Css Albertoni Bruneck Aug 07' and 'by Bim'. Photograph 17 of 227 contained in Volume 3 of Costanza Hulton’s personal photograph albums (1906 - 1919). ‘Z’ refers to Costanza Hulton’s nickname Zina. She was the mother of Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972) who took this photograph; she became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. 'Bim' is short for Bimbele, the family nickname for Edith Teresa Hulton. This photograph was taken in Bruneck, then a town in the Puster Valley in the Austrian province of South Tyrol. Since the end of World War I the province has been part of Italy, and the Italian name for the town is Brunico.
