Summary
A monochrome photograph of Torà, a small dog that belonged to Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972). Edith Teresa can just be seen at the left of the photo leaning out of the open window and holding the right front paw of the dog, which is sitting on the window sill. Written in ink underneath the photograph: 'May 1903'. Photograph 35 of 134 contained in Volume 2 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1901 - 1906). 'Bim' is short for Bimbele, the Hulton family nickname for Edith Teresa Hulton. She became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. This photograph was taken by Teresa's father William Stokes Hulton (Emberton, Bucks 1852 – Venice 1921) in the German city of Munich. The writing underneath this photograph is part of a sentence that is spread across the 5 photos on pages 12 and 13 of the album. The full sentence reads: 'Bim & Torà done by Willy Munich May 1903'. See also National Trust Inventory Numbers 610168.32 - 610168.35.
