Summary
A monochrome, full-length photograph of Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940). She is wearing a large hat, with some flowers in her hair and is holding an opened fan in her left hand. Written in ink underneath the photograph: 'Gioconda April 1903' and '(Contarini)'. Photograph 21 of 134 contained in Volume 2 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1901 - 1906). Gioconda Mary Hulton was the elder sister of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick (1890-1972). '(Contarini)' refers to the location where this photograph was taken, namely the Palazzo Contarini dal Zaffo in Venice which belonged to John Humphreys Johnstone and his wife Anne who were friends of the Hulton family.
