Summary
A monochrome photograph of Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton (née Mazini) (1863-1939), standing at an open window with both hands resting on railings. Written in ink underneath the photograph: 'Zina Pontaven 1886'. Photograph 5 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton was the mother of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick. 'Pontaven' is assumed to be Pont-Aven in Brittany, north-western France, historically a popular destination for artists and visited by Emile Bernard and Paul Gauguin. William Stokes Hulton and his wife Costanza, the parents of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick, spent time at Pont-Aven during their honeymoon, following their marriage in 1886.
