A monochrome photograph of William Stokes Hulton (1852-1921) and his wife Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton (née Mazini) (1863-1939) standing on a beach at the Lido, Venice holding hands with their daughters Gioconda Hulton and Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972). Written in ink underneath the photograph: 'Willy, Bimbele, Gioconda, Zina' and 'Lido 1894 Mrs Blundell Leigh'.Photograph 49 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Edith Teresa Hulton became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919.'Bimbele' was the Hulton family nickname for Edith Teresa Hulton.This photograph was taken at the Venice Lido (Lido di Venezia), an 11km long sandbar located in Venice, northern Italy. The photograph was taken by a Mrs Blundell Leigh who is assumed to be Lady Rose Nevill who married a John Blundell Leigh in 1887.See also National Trust inventory numbers 610136.49, 610136.51 and 610136.52.
