Summary
A monochrome photograph of Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972), aged 3, sitting on a stool and facing forwards. There is a table with some flowers on it immediately behind her. Written in ink underneath the photograph 'Bimbele March 1894' and 'Ugo Rombo'. Photograph 44 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Edith Teresa Hulton was the daughter of William Stokes Hulton (1852-1921) and Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton (née Mazini) (1863–1939). She became Lady Berwick when she married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30th June 1919. 'Bimbele' was Edith Teresa’s family nickname. The photographer was Ugo Rombo, a Venetian admiral. The photograph was taken at the Hulton family home in Venice. Their address was Calle della Testa 6383, San Zanipolo and the family referred to the house as Casa Hulton; it was previously known as Ca’ Donà dalle Rose.
