Summary
A monochrome photograph of Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940) and her younger sister Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972) standing in a field or garden with a small bush immediately behind them. Both girls are holding fruit or flowers. Written in ink underneath the photograph 'Gioconda & Bimbele Primiero 1893'. Photograph 32 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Gioconda and Edith Teresa Hulton (later Lady Berwick) were the daughters of William Stokes Hulton (1852-1921) and Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton (née Mazini) (1863–1939); Edith Teresa Hulton married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. 'Bimbele' was Edith Teresa’s family nickname. The Primiero is a valley located in the eastern part of Trentino in northern Italy. See also National Trust Inventory Number 610136.32
