Summary
A monochrome photograph of Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940) and her sister Edith Teresa Hulton (1890-1972) sitting together on a window seat. There is a potted plant on the window seat to Teresa's left. Written in ink underneath the photograph 'Gioconda & Bimbele 1893' and also 'P. Robertson'. Photograph 28 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Gioconda and Teresa were the daughters of William Stokes Hulton (1852-1921) and Costanza (‘Zina’) Hulton (née Mazini) (1863–1939); Teresa Hulton married Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1877-1947) on 30 June 1919. 'Bimbele' was Teresa’s family nickname. The photograph was taken at the Hulton family home in Venice. Their address was Calle della Testa 6383, San Zanipolo and the family referred to the house as Casa Hulton; it was previously known as Ca’ Donà dalle Rose. This photograph was taken by Poppy Robertson.
