Summary
A monochrome photograph, a head and shoulders portrait of Gioconda Hulton (1887-1940) aged approximately 4 years, wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Written in ink underneath the photograph 'Gioconda Cortina 1891'. Photograph 22 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Gioconda Mary Hulton was the elder sister of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick. The photograph was taken in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a holiday resort near the Austrian border in the Southern Dolomites in northern Italy. This photograph is believed to have been taken by Baron Rothschild's servant. See also National Trust Inventory Number 610136.24
