Summary
A monochrome photograph of an unknown man standing next to four white horses outside The New Inn Hotel. In an upstairs window of the hotel two women are visible, with a small baby in the centre. One of the women is assumed to be called Marietta and the baby is assumed to be Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940). The hotel is in Winchelsea in East Sussex. Written in ink underneath the photograph: 'Gioconda and Marietta, Winchelsea 1888'. Photograph 10 of 102 contained in Volume 1 of Costanza Hulton's personal photograph albums (1886 - 1901). Gioconda Mary Hulton (1887-1940) was the elder sister of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick.
