Summary
Brown cloth covered, hard backed photograph album with chequered end papers. A white label in the centre of the front cover has 'VOL. I' written in black ink. There is also a Roman numeral 'I' marked at the top of the album spine. The album was compiled by Costanza Hulton (née Mazini) (1863-1939), the mother of Edith Teresa Hulton, later Lady Berwick (1890-1972). It contains 40 pages that hold 98 monochrome photos of the Hulton family and friends, taken between 1886 and 1901 and pasted in. Handwritten captions by Costanza are provided below the photographs, providing information on dates, locations and subjects etc. The album also contains two loose plastic wallets, one containing three black and white photos and one containing a single black and white photo.
